Week 2 Assignment 3
The videos and articles I have read and watched provided me with many new ideas on important practices needed to be implemented while teaching literacy. Since being literate is the most crucial thing in a person’s life, teachers must make it number their number one priority to understand and teach it to students in the most effective manner. A part of being literate is the mastering print awareness, speech, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension and spelling. When teachers help students master these skills they are giving them tools for life. As an educator I will work on helping my students master these important skills so that they can go on and read independently.
